“I’m dreaming of a white Christmas…”, “Chestnuts roasting on an open fire…" who knew that some of the best loved Christmas carols were written by Jewish songwriters. This musical documentary celebrates the amazing story of Jewish composers such as such as Irving Berlin, Mel Tormé, and Jay Livingston, who composed the indelible, mainstream pop-culture soundtrack to Christmas. These Jewish immigrant outsiders connected Christmas with a universal theme: imagining a better world. Featuring interviews with Alan Dershowitz, Mark Breslin, and comedians Jackie Mason and Ophira Eisenberg (coming to the J on January 24). Plays with short film HANNAH COHEN’S HOLY COMMUNION. Tickets purchased by December 17 include dinner; after that, film only tickets available. Concessions and wine/beer for sale.
