Friday Night Films- Loving Vincent
The Mercer Island Arts Council's film series returns with a new name and a fresh look to celebrate the 15th year of FREE movies on Mercer Island! Join us for Friday Night Films and discover the “Art of Film” through a dozen movies about visual arts, dance, music, theater, and more. From musicals to documentaries, animated features to biopics, this season will delight art lovers of all ages.
Film historian Lance Rhoades sets the stage with an introduction for each film and then leads a Q&A to share more insights and interesting facts. All films are free and open to the public. Visit http://www.mercergov.org/fridayfilms for the full 2019 lineup.
This cinematic marvel explores the life and death of painter Vincent van Gogh. Each of the film’s 65,000 frames is an oil painting on canvas, making Loving Vincent the world’s first fully painted feature length film.
