Courageous Compassion for CaregiversName: Courageous Compassion for CaregiversDate: April 11, 2018 - June 6, 2018Event Description:Caring for children is one of the most important jobs in the world, yet parents and educators are rarely given the support and tools they need for success. Courageous Compassion offers a comprehensive framework that integrates current research in neuroscience, social-emotional learning, mindfulness, and developmental and social psychology to support parents, grandparents, and educators in deepening both their self-care and their capacity for care and connection with the children in their lives. This popular 8-week course introduces Courage of Care’s three modes of care and compassion: receiving care; self-care; and extending care. It is designed to help you strengthen your personal practice of mindfulness and compassion, learn strategies for compassionate caregiving, and grow and learn in community with one another. In each meeting, we will discuss the science and theory of compassion, be introduced to several mindfulness and compassion practices that strengthen our capacity for receiving and giving care, and along the way will create a community of “carers” who support one another’s learning and practice. Class size will be limited to 20. For questions about the content of the course, please contact instructor Kelly Moore. For registration questions contact Dana Weiner.
