Art UnCorked - POSTONED UNTIL 2021
July 2, 2020: In an abundance of caution due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mercer Island Chamber of Commerce has decided to postpone Art UnCorked, which was scheduled for Friday, September 11, 2020. We know this has been a extremely trying time for our entire community, and it goes without saying that we were very excited to gather in our beautiful outdoor space on Mercer Island, to celebrate the end of summer and the coming of fall. We held onto hope that King County would move through the Phases set forth by the State of Washington that would put us to Phase 4 by early September. However, after consulting with key contributors to the event, we have decided to postpone this year’s event and plan to hold next year’s event on Friday, September 10, 2021.
In what would have been the 7th year of Art UnCorked, the Chamber had planned for its most successful community-wide art, wine and music event, which would have been located in the Greta Hackett Outdoor Sculpture Gallery in Mercer Island’s Town Center. Mercer Island Town Center and Mercer Island Parks are alive and still open for business, but with Phase 2 precautions, social distancing and cloth face coverings worn by all. We hope during the coming months, as we begin to reopen, you visit Town Center and our parks, and you enjoy the beauty of our island and what it has to offer.
We want to thank all of our past sponsors, volunteers, the City of Mercer Island, Mercer Island Visual Arts Group, Washington State Liquor Control Board, TreeHouse Productions, and Seattle UnCorked for your years of support and hope that you return next year to help us plan our 7th Annual Art UnCorked on Friday, September 10, 2021.
Sincerely, The Mercer Island Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Laurie Givan, Executive Director
